    Foxhole Technology provides a broad range of technical and analytical functions in support of delivering services to the DISA Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC). Our team supports the preparation and implementation of optimization management and business and transition plans, to effectively meet DoD objectives. Additionally, we assist DISA in the development of new business initiatives through the recommended use of commercial Information Technology Infrastructure Library best business practices, as well as the management of specific transition, migration and optimization tasks.

    Foxhole Technology is currently seeking to add a Hardware/Software Installation Technician to our growing team.  The Technician will operate within a Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) and must have experience working in an enterprise level Data Center.  The candidate will be responsible for the following;

    • Coordinates installation of new data center hardware equipment with associated vendors.  
    • Conducts testing of new servers prior to hand off to system administrators.
    • Implements and documents processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices
    • Develops and coordinates requests for systems server connections for cabling, either copper or fiber or both, and performs required linkages to the servers and verifies connections in large data center for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
    • Terminate and install/remove cabling. Must be able to climb step ladders in order to reach overhead cabling trays
    • Records project status in an automated information system so that workload can be managed appropriately. 
    • Coordinates, requests and assigns device and server host names and IP address registration.
    • Coordinate and complete the Interim Authority to Connect (IATC) to the Out-of-Band network.
    • Communicate device installation details to Configuration Management personnel so that DISA databases are documented properly. 
    • Assists in the implementation of training tools and documentation.  
    • Performs required actions for clearing data from decommissioned servers ready to return to vendors. 
    • Removes associated cables from servers and communications appliances that have been disposed of both from over-head cable trays and from under floor. 
    • Travels to other DISA sites in support of Enterprise E-mail equipment installation and other projects when required.
    • Coordinates with Comm as a Service(CaaS) vendor, Knight Point Systems (KPS), the installation of new devices into the data center and the associated documentation on the call order website.
    • Assists with the installation of HP storage equipment in support of DISA’s new World Wide Technology contract for storage tech refresh.
     

    Minimum Requirements

    • The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience and a BS degree from an accredited institution  
    • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
    • Ability to analyze and isolate issues

    • Ability to lift 45 lbs. to do cabling work and move servers and network hardware

    • Security+ Certification (can be obtained after start date)
